When to Use Website Analysis
Starting from Scratch
If you don't have a transcript or existing content, website analysis provides an excellent starting point for your CIM. It creates a comprehensive foundation that you can then enhance with specific financial data and strategic information.
Enhancing Existing Content
Already have a CIM started from a transcript? Website analysis can fill in gaps and add details that may not have been covered in your meetings, such as complete product listings or team member profiles.
Ensuring Accuracy
Use website analysis to verify and update information in your CIM, ensuring all company details, contact information, and service descriptions are current and accurate.
Website analysis works best with well-structured business websites that have clear About, Services, and Team pages. E-commerce sites, blogs, and portfolio sites are all supported.
Step-by-Step Guide
You can use website analysis in two ways:
- When creating a new CIM: Select "Analyze Website" as your input method
- For existing CIMs: Click the "Analyze Website" button in the editor toolbar
Type or paste your business website URL into the input field. Make sure to include the full URL including https:// or http://.
Examples:
https://www.yourbusiness.comhttps://yourbusiness.comhttps://shop.yourbusiness.com
Before starting the analysis, you can customize what information to extract:
- Depth Level: Choose between Quick Scan (main pages only) or Deep Scan (all accessible pages)
- Focus Areas: Select specific information types to prioritize
- Include Images: Toggle whether to extract and include visual assets
Website analysis typically takes 45-90 seconds depending on site size. Large websites with many pages may take up to 3 minutes for a deep scan.
Click Analyze Website to begin. You'll see a progress indicator showing which pages are being processed. The analyzer will:
- Crawl your website's public pages
- Extract relevant business information
- Organize content into CIM sections
- Generate professional descriptions
Once analysis is complete, you'll see a preview of the extracted information. You can:
- Accept All: Add all extracted content to your CIM
- Select Sections: Choose specific sections to include
- Edit Before Adding: Modify the content before merging
What Gets Extracted
Automatic Extraction
The AI automatically identifies and extracts these common elements:
- Company name and tagline
- Business description and mission statement
- Product and service offerings
- Team member names and roles
- Contact information and locations
- Client testimonials and case studies
- Awards and certifications
- Press mentions and media coverage
Smart Content Organization
The extracted information is automatically organized into standard CIM sections:
- Executive Summary: Synthesized from various website elements
- Company Overview: About page content and company history
- Products & Services: Detailed offerings from service pages
- Management Team: Leadership information from team pages
- Market Position: Industry focus and competitive advantages
For best results, ensure your website has updated content on key pages like About Us, Services, Team, and Contact. The AI performs better with well-structured HTML and clear navigation.

Combining Website Analysis with Other Features
Website + Transcript Combo
For the most comprehensive CIM, combine both methods:
- Start with website analysis for foundational information
- Upload a transcript to add strategic insights and financial details
- The AI will intelligently merge both sources
Iterative Enhancement
You can run website analysis multiple times on the same CIM:
- After updating your website with new content
- To capture seasonal changes or new offerings
- When adding new team members or locations
Troubleshooting Common Issues
Website Not Loading
Issue: Analysis fails to start or returns an error
Solutions:
- Verify the URL is correct and accessible
- Check if the website requires login or has access restrictions
- Ensure the site isn't blocking automated crawlers
- Try using the main domain instead of specific pages
Missing Information
Issue: Important details aren't being extracted
Solutions:
- Use Deep Scan mode for more thorough analysis
- Check if content is in JavaScript-rendered sections
- Ensure information is in text format, not just images
- Manually add missing details after analysis
Incorrect Information
Issue: Extracted content contains errors
Solutions:
- Review and edit content before accepting
- Use the selective merge option
- Update your website source content first
- Report persistent issues to support
Website analysis only accesses publicly available information. Private pages, password-protected content, and internal systems remain secure and are not accessed.
